Jodi Benassi

Jodi Benassi is an intellectual property litigator who represents clients in complex patent and trademark disputes across the country. She works with businesses of all sizes, from Fortune 100 companies to emerging startups, in industries such as technology, entertainment, finance, beverage, pharmaceutical, and life sciences. Her experience spans federal courts in California, Georgia, Texas, Delaware, Florida, New Jersey, Washington, and Michigan, as well as state courts in California and Georgia. She also handles matters before the US Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) of the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and conducts internal investigations for audit committees.

Jodi earned her BS from San Jose State University in 2003. She later received her Juris Doctor in 2015 from Santa Clara University School of Law. Her education built a strong foundation in legal research, writing, and trial advocacy. She is admitted to practice in California and before the US District Court for the Northern District of California, the US District Court for the Eastern District of California, and the US District Court for the Central District of California.

Jodi approaches each case with careful preparation and strong attention to detail. She drafts pleadings, manages discovery, prepares depositions, and works closely with experts. She has handled dispositive motions and trial preparation in high-stakes patent matters. Her case results include winning summary judgment of non-infringement in Rothschild Connected Devices Innovations, LLC v. Coca-Cola Company and securing favorable settlements in complex pharmaceutical and biotechnology disputes.

Jodi Benassi is also committed to service beyond the courtroom. She has earned recognition in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America, Patent Law, 2025-2026, and received the California State Bar, Wiley W. Manuel Certificate for Pro Bono Legal Services. She serves artists and vulnerable individuals through pro bono work, including successful defensive asylum representation and unlawful eviction matters, reflecting her dedication to protecting rights at every level.
