Ethan R. Okura has devoted his career to guiding individuals and families through estate planning, wills, trusts, elder law, and asset protection. His practice also includes probate and trust administration, with an emphasis on helping clients shield their assets from costly nursing home care and ensuring that estates are protected for future generations.
Ethan earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Brigham Young University in 1999, majoring in International Relations and minoring in Japanese. He then pursued his legal education at Columbia University School of Law in New York City, where he obtained his Juris Doctor in 2002. During law school, he was honored as a Harlan Fiske Stone scholar and received the Parker School Certificate of Achievement in International and Comparative Law.
Ethan began his career as an associate attorney in the New York City office of Clifford Chance LLP, one of the world’s leading law firms. After gaining valuable experience in the city, he returned to Hawaii in 2005 to focus on serving the estate planning needs of his community. He is admitted to practice in both New York and Hawaii and remains an active member of the Probate and Elder Law Sections of the Hawaii State Bar Association, where he has also served on the Executive Board of the Elder Law Section.
