Steven Bergman

Steven Bergman is a shareholder at Richards Brandt and a highly experienced litigator with more than two decades of practice in state and federal courts across the United States. He represents a diverse range of clients in product liability, commercial, and antitrust disputes; contract and corporate governance cases; real estate and eminent domain proceedings; intellectual property disputes; and civil appeals. His clients include real estate developers, small businesses, distributors, financial institutions, insurance providers, high-tech companies, manufacturers, and professionals. Steven has handled trials, appeals, arbitration proceedings, and alternative dispute resolution matters, helping clients protect their interests in high-stakes disputes.

Steven earned his J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law, where he graduated with Order of the Coif honors and served on the UCLA Journal of Environmental Law & Policy. He also holds a B.S. in Finance from the University of California, Berkeley, where he graduated with honors.

Steven has helped businesses and individuals resolve complex legal matters that often involve overlapping areas of law in his career. He has guided clients through real property litigation, product liability claims against tire manufacturers and distributors, antitrust litigation, commercial contract disputes, and business dissolution. Beyond disputes, he has expanded his practice to include transactional work such as real estate purchase and sale agreements, business sales, financing, deeds of trust, development, distribution agreements, leases, and licensing contracts.

Steven Bergman leads Richards Brandt’s “Real Estate Transactions and Litigation Practice Group” and is also part of the firm’s litigation, business, and appellate groups. He is admitted to practice in California, Utah, and Arizona, as well as numerous federal district courts and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Ninth and Tenth Circuits. His commitment to client service has made him a trusted advocate for businesses, organizations, and professionals facing both litigation and transactional challenges.
