About
Erin Tognetti is a Partner in Hawley Troxell’s Pocatello office and a member of the firm’s Litigation and Employment practice groups. Her current practice includes insurance defense in personal injury and trucking accident matters, employment disputes, construction defect matters, probate litigation, property law, and contract law. She brings substantial trial experience from both civil practice and criminal prosecution in California and Idaho.
Erin earned a B.A. in English from California State University, Sacramento in 1998 and a J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 2011. During law school, she interned with public defender offices in Sacramento and Placer counties, the Placer County District Attorney’s Office, and the California Department of Justice. Those placements gave her early experience with research, writing, investigation, and courtroom-focused legal work.
Erin spent six years with a California civil firm, practicing in areas that included probate litigation, property law, construction defect, business law, and landlord-tenant law. She later moved into criminal prosecution and ultimately served for three years as the Bannock County Senior Prosecuting Attorney in Pocatello before joining Hawley Troxell in 2024. Her background on both civil and criminal matters supports careful case evaluation, witness preparation, evidentiary analysis, negotiation, and trial strategy.
Erin Tognetti is admitted to practice in Idaho and California in state and federal courts. She also serves as President of the Board of Directors of Bright Tomorrows Child Advocacy Center, President of the Sixth District Portneuf Inn of Court, and a member of the Idaho Supreme Court Criminal Rules Committee. Her combination of litigation experience, employment work, construction matters, and community leadership supports practical advocacy in complex disputes.
