Erika L. Amarante

Erika L. Amarante is a New Haven partner who focuses on medical malpractice defense, health care litigation, and regulatory compliance. She represents hospitals, physicians, dentists, and other health care providers in matters involving professional negligence, informed consent, negligent credentialing, and serious injury claims. Her practice supports clients facing complex liability disputes that require careful case analysis, strong courtroom preparation, and practical risk-reduction guidance.

Erika earned her J.D. from New York University School of Law in 1998, graduating cum laude. She also received her B.A. from Cornell University in 1995 with distinction. Her academic background provides a strong foundation in legal analysis, advocacy, and problem-solving. This training supports her ability to defend health care providers in complex disputes and advise clients on litigation risk, liability concerns, and professional standards.

Erika has extensive experience defending claims involving wrongful death, birth trauma, delayed cancer diagnosis, brain injuries, and other catastrophic injuries. She has also served in a claims management role, where she set reserves and valued cases. Her background includes counseling health care providers on liability issues and risk-reduction strategies. She has tried numerous cases to verdict and previously served as a law clerk and executive assistant on the Connecticut Supreme Court.
