Eric Sirotkin is a Santa Fe lawyer, mediator, and educator whose practice includes civil rights, employment disputes, whistleblower protections, wrongful discharge, breach of contract, and constitutional claims. He has more than 35 years of litigation experience involving corporations, universities, governmental entities, and individuals. Sirotkin has represented clients in matters involving free speech, due process, discrimination, retaliation, and other workplace or constitutional issues, combining courtroom advocacy with mediation and other problem-solving approaches when they can serve the client’s goals.
Sirotkin earned a B.A. in Justice, Morality and Constitutional Democracy from Michigan State University’s James Madison College in 1978 and a J.D. from the University of Detroit School of Law in 1981. His academic background in constitutional and public issues provided an early foundation for later civil rights and employment work. He has also taught as an adjunct professor at the University of New Mexico School of Law, including courses in labor law and modern employment law, and has presented continuing legal education programs.
Sirotkin’s litigation experience includes representing protesters in matters involving political expression, workers raising discrimination or retaliation claims, and clients facing constitutional violations. His employment practice addresses race, age, sex, disability, and whistleblower issues, as well as wrongful discharge and contract disputes. He also handles claims involving alleged corporate fraud or racketeering. As a mediator, he has helped resolve hundreds of matters, giving him experience evaluating disputed facts and legal positions from both an advocacy and settlement perspective.
Eric Sirotkin has combined private practice with teaching, mediation, and human rights work throughout his career. He founded the New Mexico Human Rights Coalition and has participated in legal and educational initiatives involving civil liberties and peaceful conflict resolution. His practice emphasizes careful legal analysis, direct advocacy, and practical dispute resolution, helping clients navigate civil rights, constitutional, and employment matters that may carry significant professional, financial, or personal consequences.
