Eric S. Montalvo is a Founding Partner of Federal Practice Group, LLP in Washington, D.C. He focuses on complex litigation, government contracts, military law, white-collar defense, and international dispute resolution. He has represented clients in military proceedings, federal criminal defense law matters, government contracting disputes, and cross-border matters. His practice also includes professional liability and international transactions involving governmental and regulatory issues.
Mr. Montalvo earned his B.S., with honors, in Business Management from the University of South Carolina. He later received his J.D., with honors, from Temple University School of Law. During law school, he served as a judicial clerk and completed internships with legal aid, public defender, and prosecutor offices. He also studied international law through Temple University’s study-abroad program in Greece.
Mr. Montalvo retired from active duty after 21 years in the U.S. Marine Corps. His service included combat tours during Desert Shield/Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom, along with deployments to Afghanistan. His military legal duties included prosecution, defense, command advising, and work as a Special Assistant US Attorney. He has also represented clients before military boards, courts-martial, military commissions, and correction boards.
Eric S. Montalvo has handled government contract protests, asset recovery matters, criminal defense cases, and appeals before the Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals. He is admitted in the District of Columbia, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey, along with numerous federal and military courts. His recognition includes Super Lawyers, Washington Business Journal’s Veterans in Business Award, and honors related to military and criminal defense practice.
