About

Eric Richardson is the owner of ER Law, a boutique litigation firm founded in 2018 to improve access to justice for North Carolina residents. His practice focuses on family law and personal injury, while the firm also represents clients in criminal matters throughout Guilford and Rockingham Counties.

Eric earned his Bachelor of Arts in economics and government from the College of William & Mary in 1991. He later received his Juris Doctor from Wake Forest University School of Law in 1996, where he served on the Editorial Board of the Wake Forest Law Review. After law school, he developed a broad trial practice representing clients in North Carolina District and Superior Courts, Federal District and Bankruptcy Courts, and matters before the North Carolina Industrial Commission. His experience includes civil litigation, family disputes, injury claims, criminal defense, and complex cases involving businesses and individuals.

Before founding ER Law, Eric worked as a partner at Ivey, McClellan, Gatton & Talcott from 1996 to 2007 and later at Oxner, Permar + Richardson, PLLC from 2007 to 2018. These roles helped him build strong litigation skills and a practical understanding of client needs. His professional involvement includes membership in the North Carolina Bar Association, North Carolina Advocates for Justice, American Association for Justice, and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum. He has also served in leadership roles with the Greensboro Bar Association and Guilford County Family Law Section.

Eric Richardson is admitted to practice in the Western, Middle, and Eastern Districts of North Carolina’s Federal Courts, as well as before the United States Supreme Court. His honors include recognition from Martindale-Hubbell, the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, and the Greensboro Bar Association’s Herb Falk Society. He helps people navigate difficult legal situations with preparation, advocacy, and steady guidance. Through family law, personal injury litigation, and criminal defense, he supports clients facing stressful disputes, serious injuries, and court challenges while working to protect their rights and pursue meaningful results.
