Eric N. Rasmussen

Eric N. Rasmussen is an experienced attorney with a strong background in business law and private practice. He has advised clients on contracts, real estate, and estate matters, and is known for providing practical guidance in both legal and business settings.

Eric earned his undergraduate degree from South Dakota State University in 1981 and his Juris Doctorate from the University of South Dakota School of Law in 1985. That same year, he became a member of the State Bar of South Dakota and began his legal career.

Eric started his practice in Brookings with the Mickelson and Helsper Law Firm, where he handled general law matters. His work focused on contracts, business organizations, real estate, tax, estate planning, and probate, serving a wide range of clients.

In 2004, Eric transitioned to an in-house role with Citibank, N.A. in Sioux Falls. There, he worked on contracts and regulatory matters related to fair lending, credit reporting, privacy, and banking law, gaining valuable experience in financial compliance.

Eric’s combined experience in private practice and corporate law allows him to provide well-rounded legal advice. He brings both legal knowledge and business insight to help clients manage risk and make informed decisions.

Eric N. Rasmussen is admitted to practice in all South Dakota state courts, as well as the Federal District Court and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, and continues to support clients in business-related legal matters.
