Reed attended South Dakota State University and earned a degree in Agri Business. He later received his juris doctorate from William Mitchell College of Law in 2005. His education prepared him to handle both business and legal challenges with a practical and informed approach in his career.
Before entering the legal field, Reed worked in International Business Development with Daktronics, a global scoreboard and video screen manufacturer. This experience gave him valuable insight into business operations, which supports his work with clients facing complex commercial and legal matters.
After law school, Reed joined Pemberton, Sorlie, Rufer and Kershner, where he focused on commercial litigation, business law, real estate law, and estate planning. He gained extensive experience advising and representing clients on a variety of legal issues across multiple practice areas.
In February 2009, Reed accepted a position with Glover & Helsper, P.C., which later became Helsper, McCarty & Rasmussen, P.C. in 2016. He continues to build a general practice that addresses both individual and business legal needs across the Brookings community.
