About
Eric Leckie is a Virginia Beach lawyer with deep trial experience in personal injury, criminal defense, military law, security clearance matters, and family law. His path to service began after 9/11, when he worked on bucket brigade lines at ground zero while still in law school.
Eric earned a B.A. from Rutgers College, a J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law, and a Master’s in National Security Affairs from the Naval Postgraduate School. He also completed a Certificate from the Expeditionary Warfare School in Quantico, Virginia, adding strong military training to his legal background.
Eric served for 12 years on active duty as a United States Marine Corps Judge Advocate. He deployed to Kabul, Afghanistan, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. There, he served as the Combined Forces Command Operational Law Chief and later advised commanders as a Command and Staff Judge Advocate.
Eric has worked in court as a former prosecutor and is licensed to appear in state and federal court. His case work includes DUI, assault and battery on family members, serious sex crimes, murder, complex federal drug conspiracy cases, and child pornography cases. He also handles contested security clearance hearings.
Eric has earned an Avvo Rating of 10.0 (Superb) in Criminal Defense, was named to the Top 100 Trial Lawyers by the National Trial Lawyers, and was recognized in The Nation’s Top 1% by the National Association of Distinguished Counsel. He also received Avvo Top Contributor and ABA appreciation honors.
