Eric J Purchase

Eric J Purchase is a partner at Purchase, George & Murphey, P.C., where he represents individuals and families in serious personal injury and wrongful death cases. His practice focuses on holding insurance companies, corporations, and negligent parties accountable through skilled trial advocacy. With decades of litigation experience, he is known for handling complex matters involving auto accidents, medical malpractice, and other high-stakes personal injury claims across Pennsylvania and beyond.

Eric J. Purchase earned his B.A. in Political Science from Gannon University. He later obtained his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. During law school, he served as Notes & Comments Editor of the University of Pittsburgh Law Review. In recognition of his academic achievement, he was inducted into the Order of the Coif, one of the nation’s most respected legal honor societies.

Mr. Purchase built a strong trial foundation at one of Erie’s largest law firms, where he served as an equity partner and practice group chairman after law school. During that time, he represented major insurance companies and employers in trials, arbitrations, and appeals. This experience gave him valuable insight into defense strategies, which he now uses to the advantage of injured clients. In 2006, he founded his own practice and committed his work to representing individuals and families rather than corporate defendants.

Eric J Purchase devotes nearly all of his practice to litigation, successfully guiding clients through personal injury, wrongful death, and medical malpractice claims. Local businesses also trust him in complex commercial disputes. Beyond individual cases, he contributes to the legal profession by teaching continuing legal education courses and lecturing on trial tactics and Pennsylvania injury law.
