Eric E. Jarrell

Eric E. Jarrell is a Member in the New Orleans office of King & Jurgens and leads the firm’s environmental practice group. Jarrell works in Environmental and Toxic Tort Law, Commercial Litigation, General Casualty Defense, and Oil and Gas Law. His matters include environmental regulation, commercial casualty, products liability, chemical exposure, and contamination disputes, with experience representing clients before courts, regulators, and administrative agencies.

Jarrell earned a J.D. from Louisiana State University Law School in 1985 and a B.S. in Zoology from Louisiana State University in 1982. His scientific undergraduate background and legal training support work involving technical environmental facts, regulatory standards, industrial operations, and causation issues. That combination is useful in matters where legal analysis must be coordinated with engineering, chemical, environmental, or operational evidence.

Jarrell has represented clients before the U.S. Coast Guard, Environmental Protection Agency, OSHA, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Corps of Engineers, and federal offshore regulators. He has also appeared before environmental agencies in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas and has litigated in state and federal courts across those states. His experience includes both trial and appellate work and recurring questions involving energy and environmental operations.

Eric E. Jarrell has been recognized in environmental-law rankings and has served in leadership roles within the Louisiana environmental bar and community organizations. He is also a frequent author and lecturer on environmental topics and co-authored the Louisiana Environmental Handbook. His practice combines regulatory knowledge, litigation experience, and technical understanding to help companies manage environmental, casualty, toxic tort, and oil and gas disputes.
