Eraina Edwards is a dedicated attorney with a strong record in appellate litigation, banking and finance law, creditors’ rights, and general civil matters. She has successfully handled appeals before the New Mexico Court of Appeals and the New Mexico Supreme Court, bringing depth and strategy to every case she manages in state and federal courts.
Eraina began her academic journey at the University of New Mexico, where she earned dual Bachelor’s degrees in psychology and fine arts with a painting emphasis. She graduated summa cum laude with university honors. She later completed her J.D. at the University of New Mexico School of Law in 2010. During law school, she served as Citations Editor for the Natural Resources Journal and worked as a writing tutor for first-year students.
Eraina started her legal career as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Michael E. Vigil at the New Mexico Court of Appeals. She then transitioned into private practice in 2011, where she focused on creditors’ rights and later expanded into appellate work. Her success includes arguing and briefing key cases like Bank of New York v. Romero and CitiMortgage v. Garcia.
Eraina brings extensive experience in collections, real estate law, business contracts, and complex finance-related disputes. She is licensed to practice in all New Mexico state and federal courts, including U.S. Bankruptcy Court, as well as before the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. Her dedication to high-quality legal advocacy has been recognized with the 2022 ALFN JPEG Picture the Future Award and a published feature in ALFN Angle.
