Emily Sumner

Emily Sumner is an immigration lawyer and founding senior partner at Sumner Immigration Law, PLLC, who has practiced immigration law exclusively throughout her career. She serves clients in all states and from around the world, focusing on business immigration systems that simplify visa processes and reduce application delays. Her work includes high-volume labor certification needs, blanket L filings, L-1 matters, J-1 waivers, fast-track green card petitions, and immigration strategies for global employee transfers in nationwide matters.

Ms. Sumner earned her J.D. from the University of Richmond School of Law and her B.A. in Spanish from Wake Forest University. Her education supports her work in immigration analysis, client communication, filing preparation, and business-focused visa planning. Her Spanish background also strengthens her ability to serve Spanish-speaking clients with clarity, professionalism, and cultural understanding during complex immigration processes involving companies, employees, families, physicians, researchers, and scientists across jurisdictions.
