Ellina Khotimlyansky

Ellina Khotimlyansky is an associate with Vasilatos Injury Law whose practice focuses on workers’ compensation and plaintiff-side personal injury matters. She represents injured clients before the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission, in bench and jury trials in the Circuit Courts, and in arbitrations and mediations. Her work combines administrative claims and civil litigation, giving her experience with forums used to resolve workplace injuries and other personal injury disputes.

Ellina earned a J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1996 and participated on the Trial Advocacy Team from 1994 through 1996. She earned a B.A. in Political Science and Communications from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1993, graduating with honors and distinction in both courses of study and earning Phi Beta Kappa recognition. She was admitted in Illinois and the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in 1996.

Ellina began client advocacy during her second year of law school, when she successfully petitioned a Federal Immigration Judge for a discretionary grant of political asylum. She later litigated on behalf of employers before the Workers’ Compensation Commission and represented defendants in personal injury and property damage claims. Her current plaintiff practice therefore follows prior defense-side work that exposed her to opposing claims practices and litigation strategies.

Ellina Khotimlyansky has arbitrated and tried numerous cases to verdict and continues to represent injured people in workers’ compensation and personal injury matters. She is a member of the Workers’ Compensation Lawyers Association and the Illinois State Bar Association. Her practice combines trial work, arbitration, mediation, and Commission proceedings, supported by earlier experience representing employers and defendants before she shifted to advocacy for injured plaintiffs.
