About
Edye Corren is a Northern California attorney who defends employers, insurers, and claims administrators in workers’ compensation litigation. She has represented clients in these matters since 1995 and handles complex disputes involving Medicare issues, Labor Code section 132a, allegations of serious and willful misconduct, and subrogation. Her work includes high-value claims and litigation involving asbestos-related injuries. Edye serves as a founding and managing partner and focuses on the evidence, procedural requirements, and settlement decisions that affect contested compensation cases.
Edye earned a Bachelor of Science in marketing from the University of Connecticut in 1990 and later received her Juris Doctorate from Whittier School of Law in Southern California. She was admitted to the California Bar in 1994. During law school, she clerked for Judge Gerald Cohn at the Agoura Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board and for the defense practice Griffin & Griffin. These early roles gave her experience with workers’ compensation procedure and the perspectives involved in defending contested claims.
Edye handles depositions of applicants and expert witnesses, hearings, arbitrations, trials, and written appeals. She advises clients on Medicare Set-Aside arrangements, reviews proposed calculations, and prepares submissions for approval by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. She has obtained approval for multiple arrangements. Before co-founding her current practice, she worked at Schmit, Morris, Bittner & Schmit and served as staff counsel for Liberty Mutual, where she supervised attorneys and staff and helped manage substantial claims.
Edye Corren has provided training for clients and spoken at advanced workers’ compensation seminars, including programs associated with Lorman Education Services and the Association of Insurance Professionals. Her responsibilities have included leading structured settlement work and supervising high-value claim files. By combining litigation experience with knowledge of Medicare considerations and claims administration, she helps defense clients prepare for hearings, evaluate potential exposure, and resolve disputes with attention to regulatory and financial consequences.
