Edward D. Flint

Edward D. Flint brings decades of courtroom focus to criminal defense in Southern Utah. With more than 33 years in practice, he has led over 100 jury trials and defended individuals facing high-stakes accusations. Edward earned his Bachelor of Science, cum laude, from the University of Utah, College of Social and Behavioral Science, Department of Political Science in 1981. He later completed his Juris Doctor from the University of Utah College of Law in 1985, providing a formal foundation for courtroom advocacy and legal analysis.

Edward focuses his work on criminal defense matters involving serious and complex charges. His experience includes defending drug crimes, sexual offenses, domestic violence allegations, violent crimes, and DUIs. Across these cases, he develops defense strategies shaped by facts, procedure, and a deep understanding of jury dynamics.

Edward has practiced across multiple areas of law, giving him a broad perspective inside and outside criminal courtrooms. Alongside private practice, he served as a Public Defender for Washington County, UT. That role strengthened his ability to act quickly, evaluate evidence critically, and advocate effectively under pressure while maintaining ethical standards and procedural discipline in daily practice.

Edward has remained engaged with the legal community through professional service and leadership. He served on the Utah Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers’ Legislative Committee and was a Past Member of the American Bar Association and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America during his years of active participation.
