Douglas J. Steinhardt

Douglas J. Steinhardt is a named partner at Florio Perrucci Steinhardt Cappelli & Tipton LLC and a seasoned attorney with decades of experience across complex legal matters. Douglas earned his B.A. in History from Gettysburg College before obtaining his J.D. from Widener University School of Law. During law school, he served as a member and associate editor of the Law Review, reflecting his strong foundation in legal research, writing, and analysis. His academic background prepared him for a career focused on advocacy, leadership, and practical problem-solving.

Douglas began his legal career as a law clerk in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Law Division, gaining early courtroom and judicial insight. He later entered private practice and became a founding partner of his firm in 2005. Today, he serves as outside counsel to large and small corporations, defense counsel to insurance carriers and joint insurance funds, and a trusted advisor on complex commercial and regulatory matters. With around 30 years of experience in family law, he has also guided clients through custody, divorce, and related proceedings with care and professionalism.

Douglas J. Steinhardt has held numerous public and institutional counsel roles in addition to private practice. He acts as Sussex County Counsel and general counsel to Warren County Community College and the Warren County Sheriff’s Department. His work has included advising government entities, prosecuting involuntary civil commitments, and providing labor and special counsel services to counties and statewide institutions.
