Alden Millard serves as Chair of Simpson Thacher’s Executive Committee, the firm’s primary governing body. Millard earned his J.D. from Columbia Law School in 1996 and graduated cum laude with an A.B. from Harvard University in 1991. He is admitted to practice in New York and brings over two decades of experience in corporate finance law to every transaction he leads.
Millard represents top-tier clients, including The Blackstone Group and First Reserve Corporation, as well as their numerous portfolio companies. His legal counsel has been instrumental in structuring billions in financing for acquisitions and strategic investments, contributing to some of the most high-profile deals in the private equity space.
Millard’s work includes advising on the financing for Blackstone’s $20 billion partnership with Thomson Reuters and its $5 billion acquisition of The Chamberlain Group. He also played a key role in Blackstone’s investment in Medline Industries and Hilton’s $8.6 billion refinancing. Clients value Millard’s precision and deal execution in complex finance matters.
