About

Douglas C. Reynolds is a member of The New Law Center, LLC in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with more than forty years of private-practice experience. He helps clients solve problems involving business, commercial, finance, real estate, employment, and personal legal matters. His business clients include closely held and family-owned companies and professional practices. He has assisted businesses with succession, separations, and reorganizations, and he also represents individuals in estate planning, real estate, and other legal matters.

Douglas earned a J.D. from Boston University School of Law and a B.A. from Dartmouth College. A current Martindale-Hubbell record lists his first Massachusetts admission in 1973. His long career has included business counseling, law-firm leadership, dispute resolution, and work with nonprofit and community organizations. This background provides substantial experience with the legal and organizational issues that arise when closely held businesses address ownership changes, internal disputes, real estate questions, employment matters, and long-term succession planning.

Douglas previously served as a senior partner at Peabody & Arnold LLP, where he chaired the Business Law Department, served on the management committee, and led practice groups and firm initiatives. Earlier, he held managing and leadership roles at Cope & Wilson, P.C. and Bowditch & Dewey. In dispute resolution, he works as settlement counsel or collaborative counsel and serves as a neutral mediator or arbitrator. He has also developed training programs in Collaborative Law and Restorative Justice.

Douglas C. Reynolds has served professional and community organizations involving law practice management, legal assistance, parenting support, diversity, zoning, and collaborative law. His current practice combines business counseling, real estate work, estate planning, and dispute resolution. He emphasizes resolution by agreement when appropriate, with the goal of limiting litigation costs and helping clients retain control over process and outcome. His decades of work with closely held businesses provide practical experience with the legal and interpersonal dimensions of ownership and succession issues.
