Douglas C. Martinson, II is a skilled attorney at Martinson & Beason, P.C., where he focuses on estate planning, probate, elder law, business law, and personal injury. Since joining the firm in 1990, he has been helping individuals and families in Huntsville and the surrounding areas navigate a wide range of legal matters. In addition to handling wills, trusts, guardianships, and business planning or disputes, Douglas also represents clients in personal injury cases. He is known for guiding clients through complex and emotionally challenging situations with both knowledge and care.
Douglas earned his B.S. in Finance from the University of Alabama. While there, he served as President of the College of Commerce & Business Administration and was involved in several honor societies. These include Jason’s Society, Anderson’s Society, and Omega Delta Kappa. He received his J.D. from Washington & Lee University School of Law. There, he was elected President of the Student Bar Association and Chairman of the Legal Research Association. He also received the American Jurisprudence Award for Legal Research. He later completed his LL.M. in Tax at Boston University School of Law in Boston in 1990.
Douglas has built a strong reputation as a leader and advocate. He has served as the past president of the Huntsville Madison County Bar Association, Huntsville School Board, Rotary Club of Huntsville, and Huntsville Young Lawyers. He currently chairs the Huntsville Madison County Public Library and is President of Cap and Gown.
Douglas C. Martinson, II has played a key role in advancing school infrastructure, raising funds, and helping secure millions for local school projects. His efforts also include global outreach, raising $75,000 for medical equipment for a pediatric oncology hospital in Guatemala. Douglas also serves on the Alabama State Bar Board of Bar Commissioners and sits on boards for several regional foundations.
