Dougie Barnard

Dougie Barnard advises health care organizations on transaction-related matters involving real estate law, development, financing, and corporate arrangements at Hall, Render, Killian, Heath & Lyman, P.C. He represents hospitals, hospital foundations, physician groups, health systems, and nonprofit organizations. He counsels clients on commercial leases and other space arrangements, including transactions affected by health care regulatory requirements. He also assists with medical office building and hospital development projects, purchase and sale transactions, and financing structures involving construction and portfolio deals.

Dougie earned his B.A. from the University of Notre Dame in 2015 and his J.D. from Notre Dame Law School in 2018. He is admitted to practice in Georgia, Indiana, and New York. He draws on his legal education and multistate admissions when advising clients on health care transactions, real estate projects, financing arrangements, securities matters, and corporate governance issues. His background supports business and regulatory analysis across multiple jurisdictions.

Dougie previously advised real estate developers and investors on acquisitions, dispositions, and development matters involving multifamily properties and medical office buildings. He also counseled investment funds through public and private offerings and advised clients on corporate governance matters while practicing at an AmLaw 50 firm. He uses this prior experience to address transactional structures, development concerns, financing needs, and governance considerations for health care and nonprofit clients pursuing complex projects.
