Mark Sylvia

Mark Sylvia is the founding attorney at Sylvia & Kishfy, LLC and advises closely held businesses, owners, families, and individuals on business and corporate law, estate planning law, tax planning, estate administration, business succession planning, and elder law. He handles entity formation, business sales and acquisitions, succession strategies, and general corporate transactions. He also helps individual clients develop estate and asset protection plans, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney designed to address specific personal, family, financial, and long-term planning goals.

Mark earned his B.S. in Accounting from Providence College, his J.D. from Quinnipiac University School of Law, and his LL.M. in Taxation from Boston University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in Rhode Island and Connecticut, as well as before the United States Tax Court and federal district courts in both states. His accounting and tax background supports coordinated legal and financial planning for clients and related matters.

Mark helps clients structure estate plans intended to minimize estate and income taxes while remaining aligned with wealth, family, and business goals. He works with accountants and financial advisors to coordinate legal strategies involving assets, ownership interests, tax considerations, and succession needs. His practice also includes estate administration and elder law matters, allowing him to assist clients with planning concerns that may develop across stages of life and business ownership.

Mark Sylvia brings more than 30 years of experience to estate planning, business law, tax planning, succession matters, and estate administration. He is a Life Fellow of the Rhode Island Bar Foundation and a member of the Estate Planning Council of Rhode Island.
