About
Diane Siegel Danoff is a partner in Dechert’s Philadelphia office and leads the firm’s global Trade Secret Litigation practice. She has more than 35 years of experience handling intellectual property and complex commercial disputes involving trade secrets, non-compete agreements, trademarks, patents, copyrights, unfair advertising, and privacy claims. Diane frequently represents companies in high-stakes injunction proceedings, trials, and appeals, helping clients protect valuable technology, confidential information, brands, and other business assets.
Diane earned her J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School in 1984. She received her A.B., magna cum laude, from Harvard University in 1981 and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Her academic training provided a strong foundation in legal analysis, advocacy, and complex problem solving. This background supports her ability to understand technical and commercial issues, develop focused litigation strategies, and present complicated intellectual property disputes clearly in court.
Diane has represented clients in technology, life sciences, financial services, consumer products, hospitality, and other industries. Her matters include obtaining injunctions in trade secret and non-compete cases, defending patent and copyright claims, and pursuing trademark and false advertising disputes. She secured a $13.5 million recovery for a medical device company following a jury trial and has achieved favorable outcomes for clients including Microsoft, WebMD, Marriott International, MetLife, and The Bank of New York Mellon.
Diane Siegel Danoff has repeatedly been recognized by Chambers USA, IAM Patent 1000, World Trademark Review, The Legal 500 US, Best Lawyers, and Managing Intellectual Property. She received the Arthur Seidel Distinguished IP Service Award and maintains an active pro bono practice involving voting rights and ballot access. Diane also serves on the boards of WHYY and the Philadelphia regional Anti-Defamation League. She combines courtroom experience, strategic judgment, and practical business awareness to guide clients through significant intellectual property disputes.
