Robert L. Ebby

Robert L. Ebby is a Philadelphia trial attorney and shareholder with more than 20 years of experience in complex commercial litigation. He represents clients in federal and state courts, private arbitrations, and mediations. His practice covers contract, insurance coverage, real estate, environmental, intellectual property, class action, and antitrust disputes. He also serves as Pennsylvania co-counsel for national firms and helps clients develop practical strategies for difficult business conflicts.

Ebby earned his J.D. magna cum laude from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law, where he served as Managing Editor for Outside Articles of the Villanova Law Review and was elected to the Order of the Coif. He received his B.A. in History magna cum laude from Amherst College in 1988. After law school, he clerked for Judge Anita B. Brody of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Ebby has handled significant commercial, insurance, environmental, and real estate disputes. His representative matters include obtaining summary judgment for clients in a $250 million insurance coverage action and in a toxic tort case involving alleged environmental exposure. He also secured summary judgment in a multimillion-dollar contract dispute, obtained injunctive relief in a land access matter, and defended government entities in litigation concerning a redevelopment project.

His public service includes representing at-risk children through the Support Center for Child Advocates and assisting low-income homeowners facing foreclosure.
