About
Denis P. Rischard is the founder and senior partner of Rischard Elder Law in Oklahoma City. His practice focuses on elder law, estate planning, estate administration, guardianship, and trust and fiduciary litigation. He advises older adults, individuals with special needs, and their families about protecting assets and planning for long-term care. His work addresses legal decisions that affect personal independence, family responsibilities, and the administration of estates and trusts.
Denis received his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame in 1983. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 1986 and was admitted to the Oklahoma bar that year. His background in business and law supports his work on financial planning concerns, fiduciary responsibilities, and disputes involving estates. He combines planning experience with trial work when families or trustees face contested matters.
Denis has tried jury and nonjury cases and represents clients in trust, estate, and fiduciary lawsuits. His practice also involves planning methods intended to address the costs of long-term care and preserve family resources. He has appeared in Oklahoma state and federal courts, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, and federal courts in nearby states. His litigation background complements his counseling work in probate, guardianship, and trust administration.
Denis P. Rischard has served as chair of the Oklahoma Bar Association’s Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Section and as president of the Oklahoma chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. He belongs to ElderCounsel, WealthCounsel, and the Oklahoma City Estate Planning Council. His professional involvement reflects a practice focused on the legal needs of aging clients, people with special needs, trustees, and families managing difficult transitions.
