Dena Keller

Dena Keller is an associate attorney at Beier Howlett, P.C., with a background in municipal law and criminal prosecution. Before joining the Troy-area firm, she spent 27 years with the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office. Her work has addressed criminal cases, government investigations, and matters involving the relationship between public agencies and the courts. She brings extensive trial and investigative experience to her current practice.

Dena earned a Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State University in 1988 and a J.D. from Detroit College of Law in 1995. She was admitted to practice in Michigan that year. Her education provided the foundation for years of courtroom advocacy and legal research involving search-and-seizure questions, criminal evidence, and trial procedure. Through her public service, she also developed practical experience presenting legal issues to courts and law enforcement professionals.

During her time as a prosecutor from 1998 to 2025, Dena handled homicide trials, major drug crimes, felony prosecutions, domestic violence, and juvenile matters. She served as chief of the Drug Unit, deputy chief of the Warrants Division and Family Domestic Violence Unit, and principal trial attorney. Her work involved agencies including the FBI, DEA, Michigan State Police, and local police departments. She also trained investigators and forensic personnel on search procedures, evidence, and testimony.

Dena Keller is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and both Oakland and Macomb county bar associations. Her prosecutorial leadership and work with multidisciplinary investigations provide a strong foundation for handling public-sector legal questions. She brings knowledge of warrant authorization, court proceedings, and the practical demands placed on government officials. Her background supports careful analysis of matters that involve both legal standards and public responsibilities.
