Deborah Chang

Deborah Chang, a trial attorney at Panish | Shea | Ravipudi LLP, was recognized as an Elite Trial Lawyer by The National Law Journal in the inaugural Elite Women of the Plaintiffs Bar category. This distinction honored only nine women nationwide who have consistently excelled in high-stakes plaintiff matters throughout their careers.

Deborah was honored at the Elite Trial Lawyers ceremony on October 5, 2018, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She expressed sincere gratitude for the recognition and emphasized that the award reflects the meaningful impact women trial lawyers continue to make in courtrooms across the country.

Deborah is licensed to practice in California, Florida, and Connecticut. She has secured some of the largest verdicts and settlements on record, including a $160,500,000 jury verdict for a traumatic brain injury and a $37,500,000 global settlement involving two truck accidents in Beverly Hills.

Deborah has handled first-impression cases that led to significant safety reforms. In Cuthbertson v. LACMTA, she obtained a record $17 million wrongful death verdict, and in Rosen v. The Regents of the University of California, she helped secure a unanimous California Supreme Court decision protecting students from known dangers.

Deborah has remained committed to mentoring and supporting women trial lawyers throughout her career. She has provided scholarships for trial skills programs and served in leadership roles for conferences dedicated to advancing women in law and trial advocacy.

Deborah Chang was scheduled to serve as a featured speaker at the Daily Journal’s “Women in Leadership in Law” seminar in San Francisco in November 2018, continuing her dedication to advancing women leaders within the legal profession.
