Dayrel S. Sewell

Dayrel S. Sewell is the managing principal and founder of the Law Firm of Dayrel Sewell, PLLC, in Brooklyn, New York. His practice focuses on civil and commercial litigation, intellectual property, business matters, and real estate disputes. He represents individuals, businesses, entrepreneurs, and property owners in state and federal matters. His work also covers patent, trademark, and copyright issues, real estate transactions, and legal questions involving food and drug regulation.

Sewell earned his J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where he served as notes editor of the Cardozo Journal of Law & Gender. He also holds an M.P.H. from Columbia University and a B.A. in Natural Sciences and Public Health from The Johns Hopkins University. His legal and public health education supports his work with technical intellectual property questions, business disputes, and regulatory matters.

Sewell has represented intellectual property owners, businesses, and real estate clients in litigation and transactional matters. His earlier experience includes a legal fellowship at Bristol-Myers Squibb involving patent and pharmaceutical regulatory issues and work with the Innocence Project. He has also provided outside counsel services to New York City. In 2026, he was appointed a hearing officer for Rockland County, adding to his service as a fee arbitration program lead arbitrator.
