About
David Marsh is a founding partner of Marsh, Rickard & Bryan and one of the most respected trial attorneys in the nation. With over 40 years of legal experience, David focuses his practice on personal injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, product liability, and complex business litigation. He has a long-standing reputation for standing up for individuals and families facing life-altering harm due to no fault of their own.
David earned his J.D. from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in 1981. He holds a B.S., summa cum laude, from Auburn University, earned in 1978.
David has tried cases in every county in Alabama and has argued before the Alabama Supreme Court, the U.S. Supreme Court, and the 5th and 11th Circuit Courts of Appeals. Known for his sharp trial skills, David achieved his first million-dollar verdicts at age 27, becoming the youngest lawyer in the country at the time to do so. Since then, he has secured more than 50 verdicts over $1 million, with many exceeding $10 million.
David’s courtroom success is matched by his leadership in the legal community. He is a sustaining member and past president of the Alabama Association for Justice and is a long-time member of major legal organizations such as the American Association for Justice, American College of Trial Lawyers, and the American Board of Trial Advocates. He is also a member of the prestigious Inner Circle of Advocates, an exclusive group of the top 100 trial lawyers in the U.S.
David has been honored repeatedly, including being named “Lawyer of the Year” by Best Lawyers in America® and ranked as a “Tier 1” litigator by Chambers USA. Despite national recognition, he remains humble and centered on his mission—delivering justice for those who need it most.
Admitted to practice in all Alabama federal district courts and the Eleventh Circuit, David Marsh continues to advocate for the right to trial by jury and protect the civil justice system from erosion. His dedication to his clients and community defines his decades-long legal legacy.
