David L. Wilson

David L. Wilson is the Managing Attorney of Wilson Law Group. He has extensive experience handling complex immigration cases before federal agencies, courts, and appeals. David represents clients in removal defense, asylum claims, family-based immigration, and federal litigation. He is licensed to practice in Minnesota, U.S. District Courts, multiple U.S. Courts of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court.

David earned his J.D. (1997) from William Mitchell College of Law, graduating cum laude. He also holds a B.A. (1993) from the University of St. Thomas, where he graduated cum laude with a major in Criminal Justice and a minor in Legal Studies.

With decades of immigration law experience, David has successfully litigated complex immigration cases in both federal and state courts, vigorously protecting his clients’ due process rights. He is a past Chair of the Minnesota/Dakotas Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and has served on AILA’s Board of Governors. David has also contributed to national immigration policy and practice as an AILA Liaison to the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR), and he has taught immigration law as an adjunct professor at William Mitchell College of Law and Hamline University School of Law.

David L. Wilson is a frequent guest speaker on immigration law, educating attorneys, judges, and law enforcement on immigration policies and procedures. He has also provided pro bono legal services to victims of domestic abuse and immigrant children in foster care. His commitment to public service has earned him several awards, including the Minnesota Justice Foundation Private Attorney Public Service Award (2016) and recognition from the Children’s Law Center of Minnesota.

David’s strong litigation background, combined with his deep understanding of immigration policies, allows him to effectively advocate for clients facing deportation, visa denials, and asylum challenges. Through his work, he continues to fight for immigrants’ rights and ensure fair treatment under the law.
