Before beginning his law practice, he served as an elementary school teacher in Pulaski, Wisconsin, from 1973 to 1976. His academic training and early professional experience built a strong foundation in communication, discipline, and public service that continues to guide his legal work. Mr. Schultz has extensive courtroom experience across Wisconsin state and federal courts. He is admitted to practice before the Circuit and Appellate Courts of Wisconsin, the United States Eastern and Western District Courts of Wisconsin, the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, the United States Army Court of Military Review, and the United States Supreme Court. He also served for 23 years in the U.S. Army National Guard and the U.S. Army Reserve JAG Corps, retiring as a Major.

David J. Schultz serves as a Winnebago County Supplemental Court Commissioner and is a member of the Winnebago County and Wisconsin Bar Associations.
