David Hamilton

David Hamilton has dedicated more than 38 years to practicing law, concentrating his career on civil litigation. He represents individuals and families impacted by negligence in cases involving wrongful death, trucking accidents, automobile collisions, motorcycle accidents, and dog bite claims. His extensive background reflects both advocacy in the courtroom and dedication to justice.

David earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance from the Indiana University School of Business. He went on to obtain his Juris Doctor from the Indiana University School of Law, Indianapolis, where he earned several academic honors, including being named the Outstanding Second Year Law Student. He was also awarded a Barrister Scholarship in recognition of his achievements.

David became a partner at the inception of his firm in 1984 and went on to hold important judicial and legal service roles. He was the first African-American appointed Commissioner in the Marion County Superior Court, Probate Division, serving three years. He also worked as a Judge pro tem in the Marion County Superior Court Criminal Division, a Hearing Officer for the Indiana Supreme Court Disciplinary Committee, and a court attorney for the Probate Division.

David is a lifetime member of both the Marion County Bar Association and the American Bar Association. His professional recognition includes being listed in Martindale-Hubbell as a distinguished attorney with a high peer rating achievement. He also received a twenty-five-year distinguished practice award from the Indiana State Bar Association. Currently, he serves on the Supreme Court of Indiana Committee on Character and Fitness and provides legal counsel on the Board of Directors for the Super Shootout, Inc. Eric Gordon City-County Allstar Game.

David Hamilton has consistently given back to his community. He served as a Precinct Chairman in Pike Township and was a member of the Federal Judicial Nominating Committee. In 2012, he was honored by the Circle City Chapter of the Links, Inc. for outstanding legal service to Indianapolis. Beyond his legal contributions, he has coached elite AAU basketball teams, achieving two national titles and numerous other championships.
