David Gunn is a dedicated bankruptcy and consumer rights attorney based in St. Louis, Missouri. With a strong passion for helping individuals overcome financial hardship, he represents clients in consumer bankruptcy, foreclosure defense, and debt collection violations. Mr. Gunn earned his B.A. in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Missouri in 1999. He later pursued his legal education at the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law, obtaining his J.D. in 2003. He specialized in Alternative Dispute Resolution and earned a Certificate in Dispute Resolution, enhancing his ability to negotiate fair settlements for his clients.
Since being admitted to the Missouri Bar in 2003, Mr. Gunn has built a strong reputation for advocating for individuals facing financial and legal challenges. He practices in the U.S. Court of Appeals 10th Circuit (since 2003) and the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Missouri (since 2004).
Mr. Gunn’s work in bankruptcy law allows him to challenge corporate lenders and debt collectors, protecting clients from foreclosure, unfair collection practices, and financial exploitation. He played a key role in a case against Critique Services, a company involved in legal malpractice, which led to a settlement and the company’s closure. He donated his $20,000 attorney fee award to the Saint Louis Bar Foundation, helping establish the Pro Se Assistance Program.
David Gunn is an active Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis member. He serves on the Local Rules Advisory Committee for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. Through his legal expertise and community efforts, he continues to fight for consumer rights and financial justice in St. Louis.
