David Finn

David Finn is a seasoned trial attorney with an exceptional track record in both criminal and civil litigation. He has led over 45 felony jury trials and handled complex cases involving organized crime, drug trafficking, and white-collar fraud. Known for his precision and leadership in legal strategy, David has also played a major role in coordinating multi-state investigations.

David began his academic journey with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of California, San Diego. He later earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from California Western School of Law. During law school, he published a legal article focused on U.S. securities regulation in China’s banking sector.

Over more than a decade at the United States Attorney’s Office in San Diego, David represented the U.S. in courts at all levels—from arraignment to appeal. He directed cross-border investigations, drug cartel takedowns, and major money laundering cases. He also served as a national coordinator on immigration law, advising all 94 federal prosecutors’ offices.

David teaches criminal law and legal writing as an adjunct professor at Thomas Jefferson School of Law. Beyond the classroom, he has held leadership roles in multiple Bar associations, serving as board president and committee chair. He has trained lawyers nationwide and helped draft responses to proposed federal legislation.

In addition to his legal work, David dedicates time to mentoring youth and volunteering. He has coached high school mock trial teams, served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), and mentored diversity law fellows. He also acts as Judge Pro Tem and volunteers at legal aid clinics for families and survivors of violence.

David Finn’s contributions have earned him multiple honors, including the Director’s Award from the U.S. Department of Justice and the Public Attorney Service Award from the San Diego Bar. His deep commitment to justice, mentorship, and public service continues to make a lasting impact on the legal community.
