About
David F. Rutledge is a dedicated attorney who began his legal path serving in the courts of Louisiana. He worked for the Honorable Judge Richard Haik of the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana and the Honorable Judge Ellis Daigle at the 27th Judicial District Court in Opelousas, Louisiana. These early roles gave David F. Rutledge strong courtroom insight and practical knowledge of federal and state proceedings.
David attended Tulane before transferring to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where he earned a B.A. in Political Science and English. He later pursued his legal studies at Loyola New Orleans College of Law. In 2010, he earned his Juris Doctorate in both Common and Civil Law. While in law school, he took part in Mock Trial and Moot Court, sharpening his advocacy and litigation skills.
David focuses his practice on Personal Injury (car accidents, etc.), Employment Law, Contracts, Maritime/Offshore Injuries, and Excessive Force matters. After gaining experience with a prominent firm in Lafayette, he established his own practice to better serve individuals facing serious legal challenges. He works closely with clients who have been injured, wronged at work, or harmed in offshore and maritime settings.
David approaches every case with preparation and determination. He understands that clients often come to him during stressful times, whether after an accident or during an employment dispute. By carefully reviewing the facts and building strong legal strategies, he aims to protect his clients’ rights and pursue fair outcomes through negotiation or trial when needed.
David F. Rutledge continues to advocate for people throughout Louisiana who need steady guidance and clear legal direction. Through his experience in courtrooms and his broad practice areas, David remains committed to helping clients move forward with confidence and strong representation.
