David C. O’Mara

David C. O’Mara is a Reno attorney and owner of  The O’Mara Law Firm, P.C., whose practice covers appellate advocacy, bankruptcy law, family law, personal injury, civil rights, and securities and shareholder disputes. With more than a decade of Nevada legal experience, he understands state rules, court procedures, and practical case needs. He has represented clients in state and federal courts, including bench trials, jury trials, and appellate arguments before the Nevada Supreme Court. His work includes helping shareholders recover significant losses through securities and shareholder actions.

David earned a J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where he also completed a Certificate in Government Affairs. He earned a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Nevada, Reno. This training supports his work in written advocacy, courtroom argument, legal research, and complex disputes. His academic path also helps him understand how law, government, and public policy affect clients and businesses.

David has a legal career including broad courtroom and public service experience. He served as a law clerk for the United States Court of Federal Claims and for the Second Judicial District of Nevada. He also worked as a legal extern with the Washoe County Public Defender Office and as legal counsel connected to Nevada election matters. He is admitted in Nevada and before the Supreme Court of Nevada, the United States District Court for the District of Nevada, the Ninth Circuit, and the United States Court of Federal Claims.
