David B. Abramowitz

David B. Abramowitz is a shareholder at Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC in Chicago. Abramowitz focuses on complex patent litigation involving the Hatch-Waxman amendments and the Biologics Price Competition and Innovation Act. He represents and counsels generic pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies in federal intellectual property litigation and advises food, drug, cosmetic, and biotechnology clients on regulatory issues involving product development, compliance, and disputes.

Abramowitz earned a J.D. from the University of Michigan School of Law in 2004 and a B.A. from Rice University in 2001. Before law school, he worked in academic laboratories and gained research experience in organic chemistry, biochemistry, cell biology, materials science, polymer science, and nanotechnology. This scientific background supports his ability to address technical patent disputes and life sciences regulatory issues.
