David A. Dodge

David A. Dodge is an accomplished attorney with a career spanning over five decades, focusing exclusively on criminal law. Since joining his current firm in 1974, David has dedicated 100% of his legal practice to litigation, representing clients in a wide range of criminal cases. His deep courtroom experience and long-standing commitment to criminal defense make him one of the most respected litigators in the region.

David earned his J.D. from Indiana University at Bloomington School of Law in 1970. He holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Michigan, where he graduated in 1968. His strong academic background in law and economics has contributed to his strategic and analytical approach in the courtroom.

Before entering private practice, David served as a JAG Officer in the United States Marine Corps from 1970 to 1973. He then worked as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney at the Kent County Prosecutor’s Office from 1973 to 1974. These early roles provided him with valuable insight into both the prosecution and defense sides of the legal system.

David is admitted to practice law in Michigan and Indiana, as well as in several federal courts, including the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court. His broad licensure enables him to represent clients at both state and federal levels.

David holds the AV Preeminent Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, a distinction awarded to attorneys with the highest level of professional excellence and ethical standards. David has also been active in legal organizations, including the Michigan and Indiana State Bar Associations.
