David A. Bateman is a trial lawyer whose work centers on Internet law, technology law, and intellectual property litigation. David also advises clients on cybersecurity risks, data breach response planning, and governance issues tied to digital security. He has participated in dozens of data breach incidents and frequently speaks on the protection of computer systems, trade secrets, and intellectual property. His work combines litigation strength with practical guidance for modern business threats.
David A. Bateman has also made a strong impact through pro bono service. As a co-founder of the Cyber Civil Rights Legal Project, he has helped support victims of nonconsensual pornography whose explicit images were shared online without consent. His work has also earned recognition through Chambers USA, the Pro Bono APEX Award 2016, Washington Super Lawyers, and The Best Lawyers in America©.
