About
Daniel M. Rathbun is a partner with more than 30 years of experience representing clients in real estate and title litigation, business disputes, and estate matters. He has handled a wide range of cases and provides guidance in complex disputes involving property, contracts, and fiduciary issues.
Daniel earned his J.D. from the Columbus School of Law of the Catholic University of America and a B.A., cum laude, from Christendom College. He is admitted to practice in Virginia, the District of Columbia, and several federal courts, including the Fourth Circuit.
Daniel began his career representing owners and lenders in land use and condemnation cases. He later expanded his practice to include construction disputes, mechanic’s lien litigation, and representation of insureds for title insurance underwriters in various legal matters.
Daniel has extensive experience litigating contract claims, lease disputes, fraud claims, and real estate title issues. He also handles cases involving easements, adverse possession, mortgages, trusts, and disputes related to wills, estates, and fiduciary duties.
Daniel’s practice includes representing lenders, servicing entities, and trustees in foreclosure challenges and litigation involving loan modifications and forbearance agreements. He has worked in both state and federal courts, handling complex financial and property-related disputes.
Daniel is a member of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association and the Fairfax Bar Association. He has also served on the Fifth District Disciplinary Committee and is a member of the Virginia State Bar Real Property Section.
