About

Daniel M. Press focuses his practice at Chung & Press, P.C. Attorneys At Law on bankruptcy law, intellectual property, and civil litigation. He represents clients in bankruptcy and federal district courts across Maryland, the District of Columbia, and Virginia, including the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia. His work also reaches appellate, district, and bankruptcy courts across the country. With strong court experience and deep knowledge of financial relief, he helps individuals and businesses understand complex legal options, protect important rights, and move forward with clearer plans during stressful disputes and financial challenges.

Mr. Press earned his B.A. from The Johns Hopkins University and his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, where he graduated magna cum laude. During law school, he served as an editor of the Georgetown Law Journal, strengthening his legal research, writing, and analysis. After completing his legal education, he served as a judicial law clerk for Judge Jaime Pieras Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico. That clerkship gave him valuable insight into federal court procedure, judicial decision-making, and effective advocacy.

Mr. Press has built a respected career in bankruptcy law, especially in matters involving individual Chapter 11 debtors. Along with Brett Weiss, he authored Chapter 11 for Individual Debtors, a Collier Monograph recognized as a leading resource on the subject. He also serves as a State Chair for the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys and holds leadership roles with bankruptcy-focused legal groups. Through these positions, he supports education, professional standards, and better legal resources for attorneys who assist consumers facing debt problems.

Daniel M. Press helps clients by combining legal knowledge with careful guidance and steady advocacy. He explains bankruptcy options in plain terms, helps clients weigh risks, and works to protect their financial interests in court. His teaching through Max Gardner’s Bankruptcy Bootcamps and frequent speaking at legal programs show his commitment to improving bankruptcy practice. By sharing knowledge with lawyers and representing clients in difficult cases, he contributes to stronger legal outcomes and more informed decisions for people and businesses.
