Daniel J. Stevens is a seasoned civil trial attorney and founding partner of The Law Offices of Daniel J. Stevens, LLC. He provides high-quality legal services with the efficiency of a boutique firm. After building his career at Maine’s largest law firm, where he became a partner and later Partner-in-Charge of the Augusta office, he established his own practice. His work focuses on delivering strong advocacy and practical solutions for individuals and businesses across Maine in complex civil litigation matters statewide. His practice at Stevens & Day, LLP focuses on probate practice, real estate, and business law.
Daniel earned his J.D. from the University of Maine School of Law, where he served as Executive Editor of the Maine Law Review. He also received a B.A. from the University of Southern Maine. His legal education provided strong training in research, writing, and courtroom advocacy. Through academic leadership and rigorous study, he developed the analytical skills and professional discipline that continue to guide his practice today. He graduated prepared to serve clients with excellence throughout the Maine courts.
Daniel has remained committed to serving the public and improving access to justice throughout his career. He helped organize a group of attorneys who provided free legal services to members of the military after 9/11. He has also offered extensive pro bono representation and was honored by the Volunteer Lawyers Project for his service. As Chair of the Maine Fee Arbitration Commission, he consistently worked to resolve disputes fairly and strengthen trust in the legal system across the state.
Daniel J. Stevens is admitted to practice in the Maine State Courts, the U.S. District Court for the District of Maine, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. He serves on the Board of Overseers of the Bar and has held leadership roles within the Maine Trial Lawyers Association. Recognized as a Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent attorney and a Life Member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, he is respected for skill, ethics, and results in complex civil litigation matters.
