Daniel J. Murphy, Sr.

Daniel J. Murphy, Sr. is the founding member of The Murphy Law Group and has practiced law since his admission in 1986. His work spans civil litigation, insurance and reinsurance, securities litigation, employment litigation, business law, personal injury, and products liability. He represents clients in disputes involving business interests, insurance issues, workplace matters, injuries, and defective products. His practice combines litigation experience with knowledge across several areas of civil law.

Mr. Murphy earned his J.D. from Northeastern University. He earned his B.A. from North Adams State College after attending the University of New Hampshire. During law school, he served as a teaching assistant in Northeastern University’s Criminal Justice Program. His education in law and criminal justice provided a foundation for a career involving litigation, insurance disputes, business matters, and other complex civil claims.

Mr. Murphy has handled significant matters resulting in reported state and federal court decisions. His reported cases include Tilton v. Union Oil Company of California and Shrewsbury v. Seaport Partners Ltd. Partnership. His experience further includes Hunneman Real Estate Corp. v. The Norwood Realty, Inc. and a federal reinsurance dispute. He belongs to the Boston and Massachusetts Bar Associations and The Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
