Daniel Herting

Daniel Herting is the founder of Herting Law, PLLC in West Des Moines, Iowa. His practice includes criminal defense, estate planning, and business law. He represents clients facing assault, domestic violence, drug, OWI, gun, theft, white collar, and cybercrime charges. His estate planning work covers wills, trusts, and powers of attorney, while his business practice includes operating agreements and biennial reports. Daniel earned his bachelor’s degree and a graduate-level certification in public policy analysis from the University of Nebraska. He later attended Drake Law, where he worked as a student attorney for the Warren County Attorney’s Office and participated in Drake Law’s Advanced Criminal Defense Clinic. These experiences allowed him to study criminal law from prosecution and defense perspectives while developing practical skills in case analysis, client representation, courtroom procedure, and legal advocacy.

Daniel continued his legal education after law school as a Fellow at Southwest University of Politics and Law in Chongqing, China. There, he studied international law from a Chinese legal perspective. His earlier experience with the Warren County Attorney’s Office and criminal defense clinic provided exposure to different sides of the criminal justice system. That background supports his current defense work involving serious criminal charges while informing the practical approach he brings to other legal matters.
