Cynthia A. Berman is a Maryland corporate lawyer whose practice centers on the real estate industry. She works with developers, landlords, tenants, home builders, construction companies, and property managers on a wide range of real estate matters. Her experience includes helping clients with commercial, industrial, and multifamily property transactions. Over the course of more than two decades, she has guided clients through acquisitions, sales, development projects, financing arrangements, and leasing matters. Many of the transactions she has handled have involved significant investments and have supported economic activity and growth within local communities.

Cynthia earned a B.A. from Kalamazoo College. She later received a J.D., cum laude, from Tulane University Law School.

Cynthia has also dedicated substantial time to community and professional service. From 2013 through 2024, she served on the Board of Directors of Baltimore Public Media, the local NPR station serving metro-Baltimore and Maryland, formerly known as WYPR. Her involvement with nonprofit and civic organizations includes serving as a Board Member of Business Volunteers Maryland, which helps businesses become meaningful contributors to communities across Maryland. She also joined the Alumni Association Executive Board for Kalamazoo College in 2016.

Cynthia is a longtime supporter of The Lawyers’ Campaign Against Hunger. The organization recognized her for 25 years of service in 2012. In addition, she is a lifetime member of the Maryland Bar Foundation and remains active with the Urban Land Institute District Council of Baltimore. Her commitment to service reflects her ongoing involvement in organizations that support both the legal profession and the broader community.

Her work spans a broad range of commercial real estate issues, and she continues to assist clients with development, financing, leasing, acquisition, and disposition projects throughout her practice.
