Curtis L. Richardson Jr.

Curtis L. Richardson Jr. is an experienced attorney serving individuals, families, and community-based organizations throughout Central Ohio. His practice focuses on juvenile law, wills, estate planning, and probate matters, with a strong emphasis on advocacy, protection of rights, and long-term family stability.

A native of Columbus and a graduate of Columbus City Schools, Richardson earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Capital University and his Juris Doctor from Capital University Law School. He is admitted to practice law in the State of Ohio and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, continuing a career defined by service, advocacy, and community impact.

Richardson provides both full and limited-scope representation in Abuse, Neglect, and Dependency (AND) cases for parents. He also serves as an Attorney Advocate and Guardian ad Litem for children, ensuring their best interests are represented in sensitive and complex legal proceedings. His work reflects a deep commitment to fairness, accountability, and child welfare.

In addition to juvenile representation, Richardson assists clients with estate planning, probate administration, and claims for compensation for crime victims through the Ohio Attorney General’s Office. With more than 30 years of professional experience, Richardson brings a unique multidisciplinary background to his legal practice. His prior roles include Public Relations Specialist, Community Developer, Higher Education Administrator, and Senior Victim Advocate, which have provided him with valuable insight into community needs, institutional systems, and effective advocacy strategies.

Curtis L. Richardson Jr. has been actively involved with nonprofit and service-oriented organizations, including participation in the United Methodist Church Global Ministries Community Developers Program and membership in the National Organization of Victim Assistance. He has also successfully obtained grants for numerous nonprofit organizations, supporting community development and victim services initiatives.
