Curtis Briggs is a California criminal defense trial attorney and founder of Briggs Law, representing clients in serious state and federal criminal matters. His practice includes homicide, sexual assault, kidnapping, gang and organized-crime cases, racketeering, white-collar fraud, and other high-stakes prosecutions. He handles matters from precharge investigations through trial and works on cases involving significant public and media attention. Curtis earned his J.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law. During law school, he received an Academic Excellence Award in Criminal Law, a CALI Award for Excellence in Criminal Litigation, and a Witkin Award for Excellence in Legal Writing. Golden Gate University later identified him as an alumnus and adjunct professor. Curtis has handled several prominent criminal cases, including the defense of Max Harris in the Ghost Ship warehouse fire trial. That case ended with an acquittal on all 36 counts of involuntary manslaughter. He has participated in other major state and federal matters involving organized crime, racketeering, and highly publicized prosecutions. His practice includes early intervention before charges, trial preparation, strategic crisis management, and courtroom advocacy. He further coaches lawyers on trial presentation, courtroom presence, and oral argument skills professionally.

Curtis Briggs has been an active member of the State Bar of California since August 2012. His practice extends throughout California and into federal courts, with a focus on serious criminal defense and complex felony litigation. He has devoted part of his practice to pro bono and indigent representation, including significant work in high-stakes cases. In addition to client representation, he trains attorneys and presents programs addressing trial advocacy, attorney well-being, self-care, and sustainable legal practice within the profession regularly.
