Cristina Kuhn

Cristina Kuhn is a partner at Dorsey & Whitney LLP, head of the Des Moines office, and a member of the Public Finance Group. She advises governmental entities and corporations on municipal law and finance. Her work includes bond and financing transactions, economic development projects, debt restructurings, public contracting, and related federal tax and securities issues that affect public-sector and project financing decisions.

Cristina earned a B.B.A. from the University of Iowa in 1991 and a J.D., with honors, from Drake University Law School in 1994. She was elected to the Order of the Coif and participated in the Drake Law Review. Her academic background in business and law supports a practice that regularly combines financial structures, statutory requirements, public governance, and transaction documentation.

Cristina has served as bond counsel, issuer’s counsel, underwriter’s counsel, borrower’s counsel, and bank counsel. Her experience includes financing for cities, counties, schools, utilities, health and senior-care projects, housing, solid waste facilities, and other public or exempt facilities. She also advises on open meetings, public records, public bidding, economic development agreements, and legal requirements connected to municipal projects.

Her practice combines transaction management with detailed knowledge of public-law requirements.
